Morality police trying to stop you from hurting yourself?

Why the fuck can we buy $30 scratch offs and not bet sports?
Go and bet horses...slot machines and other various gambling.

1st of all, it's now up to the individual states to decide. So things have been moving in the right direction as many states have already changed their laws and many are on the cusp.

But as far as the question why is it still illegal in many states? The answer is simple. Money.

Government officials get their pockets lined by voting a certain way on certain things. Certain special interest groups do not want sports betting legalized for a variety of different reasons. Whether it's Vegas protecting their interests. Religious zealots preaching morality. Etc.

If not for the rona, a lot more pro-betting legislation would've been pushed through this year. Just a matter of time now.
